Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on 6th July 2025.
Revelwood Ltd (“Revelwood”, “we”, “our”) wants everyone to use www.revelwood.org.uk with ease and confidence. In line with our Accessibility Policy we aim for full compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and the equality-of-access requirements set out in the UK Equality Act 2010.
Standards we follow
-
WCAG 2.2 Level AA — technical benchmark for perceivable, operable, understandable and robust content.
-
ISO 30071-1:2019 — informs our internal design and testing process.
-
Public-Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Apps) Regulations 2018 — applied as best practice although we are private sector.
How we make the site accessible
-
Semantic HTML & ARIA landmarks throughout every template.
-
Keyboard operability — you can move through the site using the Tab, Shift + Tab, Enter and arrow keys alone.
-
Skip-to-content link — first focusable element on every page.
-
Consistent focus indicator — a 3 : 1 high-contrast outline ≥ 2 CSS px wide that is never hidden behind sticky headers.
-
Minimum target size — all interactive controls are ≥ 24 px × 24 px or have equivalent spacing.
-
Readable design — body text colour contrast is ≥ 4.5 : 1; line-height ≥ 1.5 × font size; responsive layout avoids horizontal scrolling at 320 px width.
-
Alternative text & captions — non-decorative images have meaningful alt text, videos come with captions and/or transcripts.
-
Browser support — current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox (over 96 % of visitors) are fully supported. In most browsers you may:
-
Increase text size with Ctrl + / Ctrl - (or ⌘ + / ⌘- on macOS) or use the Zoom option in the menu;
-
Choose your own fonts and background colours via the browser’s Settings/Preferences panel.
-
Feedback and contact
If you find a barrier on the site — or have suggestions to help us improve — we would love to hear from you. Please include:
-
the web page or feature where you found the problem;
-
a brief description of what went wrong;
-
any assistive technology or browser you were using.
